Just noticed this QED meets Judy Torres meets Journey here!

17th June last year I reviewed a massive artist called QED their lead singer is Kristine Hendricks

QED:-

http://bodypump_tracks.blogspot.com/2005/06/introducing-qed.html

Well I reviewed Judy Torres single - Faithfully in January this year.

http://bodypump_tracks.blogspot.com/2006/01/judy-torres.html

Here is the connection Kristine did the backing vocals on Faithfully - by Judy the hit by "Journey"

I reviewed Journeys "Generations" here:

http://bodypump_tracks.blogspot.com/2005/10/journey-generations.html

Un-believable!

Casey Donovan 2nd CD Update 2006!

I featured Casey here in May 2005. Wow thats almost 12 months ago (insert shock icon.)

http://bodypump_tracks.blogspot.com/2005/05/introducing-casey-donovan.html

Casey Donovan according to her forum of which I am a member has said that she is entering the recording studio next month to record her single for her up and coming new CD. She won Australian Idol in 2004. Her new CD is due mid year. She has written or co-written the material for the new CD. If you are not from Australia please check Casey's music out. That is why Australia voted her as their "Australian Idol" in 2004.

Runner Up was Anthony Callea.

I love the music of Casey Donovan and she totally rocks :)

100 % Heavy Metal Bodypump anyone?

I am an old heavy metal head banger from way back. Sammy Hagar - Vanhallen - Metalica - Poison - Rat - Tony Carey - Van Hallen - Aldo Nova - Quiet Riot - Alice Cooper - The Scorpions - Judas Priest and Blue Oyster Cult etc...

I could imagine doing biceps to Rick Derringer Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo :) or chuck in some Heat Of The Moment by - Asia :)

I liked Enter the Sandman - Metalica track 3 BP 43 Enter Sandman Metalica. I spoke to another Pump Instructor about that track and I said I loved that track :) he gave me strange look? I also love Jump Vanhallen from Bodypump 39 which is def an awesome track 3. Lay Down Your Guns - Cold Chisle from Bodypump 21 and Keep the Faith from Bodypump 32 was a awesome track 4. :) 3 BP 34 The final countdown 2000 Europe is a standout track 3 it was build in three parts.

I would love to see a 100% Heavy Metal Bodypump :) well parts there off :)

Who knows maybe one day :)

William Wilson anyone?

Check out their myspace :)

http://www.myspace.com/williamwilsonfrance or http://www.william-wilson.net/

Bodypump 58!

There is a flashback to the 80's on the release. I am suprised that they would use an 80's track in Bodypump :P.

Will have to wait till May to do that one :)

They should do a 100 % 80's Bodypump release :) as a bonus release :)

This would be an awesome mix :)

01. The right stuff (Bryan Ferry)
02. She works hard for the money (Donna Summer)
03. Cross my heart (Eighth Wonder.) or Out of mind out of sight (Models)
04. Seperate Ways (Worlds Apart) Journey would be an awesome track 4 :)
05. The lover in me (Shenna Easton)
06. Right on track (The Breakfast Club)
07. Take on me (Ah Ha)
08. Theme from S – Express (S-Express)
09. Push It (Salt and Pepper)
10. Live to tell (Madonna) Song or B-side instrumental

That would be an awesome bonus 80's mix :)

Michael's profile not on the main Les Mills website!

If you are wondering Michael J McSweeney's profile is now off the main Les Mills Website.

http://www.lesmills.com/site/people/choreographers.aspx

So that confirms that Michael J McSweeney is no longer the Product Manager and Head Choreogrpaher of Bodypump.

I will miss him and feel a bit sad about the passing of an era :( Michael has left a massive blueprint on the program he developed and choreographed for the past 15 years. He is responsible for the success of Bodypump worldwide and providing employment to thousands of people in the fitness industry who instruct in the classes he created. He also is responsible for the millions of people loose weight and get into shape with his choreography and the exercises her has choreographed for each and every Bodypump.

Michael is a top bloke and a huge part of my education and training life has been shaped by Michael, the music he has choosen for BP and RPM has entered my life. For without his music I would have never heard of E-Type, Jackie O, Alexia, Darude, Sash, Kate Ryan and a whole bunch more. Michael has also shaped what I like in music and what I enjoy listening to as well.

I will be writing a special issue on Michael soon.....

So PumpFrog has left the building.

Wishing Michael all the best for what he does in the future!

Pulse Aerobic & Fitness Center article!

A wonderful atricle on Les Mills and their impact on the USA/Canada scene.

http://fortcollinspulse.com/news.htm

Enjoy the read :)

Les Mills Happenings USA/Canada!

Click on the link above or click below:

http://www.fitcommerce.com/Blueprint/Page.aspx?pageId=149&portalId=2

On their site is an atricle on Les Mills and their impact on the USA/Canada marketplace.

Fitness Programmer, Les Mills International, Regains Footing in U.S.A.

It covers the new regional approach of Les Mills USA and Canada and their regional impact policy.

Interesting atricle :)

The Matrix Principle welcome back :) to Bodypump 57!

There has been a lot of talk on Biceps Curls and the current release (Bodypump 57 - Track 6.)

This is my viewpoint!

I like it. It takes me back a technique called "The Matrix Principle." Matrix Principle is a awesome way to train and I am glad to see it in Bodypump. The Matrix Principle is an awesome way to develop and sculpt the body and also to work with weights and work within range movements that are controlled. The thing is that in this release you cannot cheat, you can not load weights that are going to lead to bad technique, you are forced to comply with the principles of performing a proper biceps curl, you learn the mechanics of a proper biceps curl, you cannot develop bad "Motor Learning Skills" with track 6 of Bodypump 57.

It is great to see that bar placement is now back as "Center Stage" in a track 6.

Now the next thing is to get people to clue their arms to their sides while doing biceps curls in Bodypump. Enough of the chicken wings already. Arms all over the place. Stand like soldiers glue those arms to the side of the body DO NOT MOVE THEM AT ALL then perform correct biceps curls. Do that and see the results in your workouts to track 6 of any bodypump release.

Track 6 of Bodypump 57 is going to enforce proper stance - biceps control and the proper execution of a biceps curl to get the best results for the biceps.

Here is an article I wrote on The Perfect Biceps Curl:

http://bodypump_tracks.blogspot.com/2005/07/perfect-biceps-curl.html

There is an awesome book in it:

The Matrix Principle: The Revolution in Weight Training (Paperback)

by Ronald Laura and Kenneth Dutton.

Now wishing for Biceps Retractor Pulls back in Bodypump :) please anyone who is now choreographing Bodypump :)

Welcome back "The Matrix Principle" :)

Getting More Technical Here!

From now on I am getting more technical with Bodypump and the exercises in Bodypump.

Hope I don't loose anyone :) with that. I wanted to bring the site to a new level of expertise this year and make it more technically orientated.

I have been watching the DVD education sessions on the DVD's and think that the way they present the information is informative and educational. So I thought how that would work well here?

So this year mentioning Biceps Femoris, Tibialis Anterior etc... is going to take the site to a new level :)

Track 3 Bodypump 57!

One very tough chest track. I was feeling it in the Pectoralis Major and Minor which is awesome. There are some nice moves in this release and some suprises with this track.

The guy next to me at the 1/4's put 20 kgs on the bar for this track. He was sweating pools of sweat during and after the track. Even if you load the bar or work with the suggested weights for this track you are going to feel this track and notice the end effects of this type of training.

Won't go into specifics but training the Pectoralis this way really works deep into the muscles and activates the muscle fibers really well. I also noticed that the workout works the three heads of the Pectoralis as well which I think Michael was trying to achieve when he programmed the workout for this track.

The clavicular head also gets a good going over with this track. It is the first time in ahwile I have noticed that the clavicular head also gets worked in Bodypump 55 and in Bodypump 57 the same part of the clavicular head is getting worked over as well.

The thing I also noticed is that as I came down I retracted the scapular more which increased the ROM.

I also went back to raising my legs up for this track. I increased the TVA activation and that also worked the TVA with increased intensity.

If you are looking for a good chest workout this track is going to do it.

Awesomely choreographed by Michael as usual :)

Mandaryna!

Mandaryna check her web site above she is a awesome singer :)

She remade Here I go Again by Whitesnake. Check out Possession by Mandaryna as well :) that sonbg rocks and wouod be an awesome track 3 in Bodypump :)

I guess her music would be outstanding in Bodypump :)I can imagine doing squats to Here I go Again :) or a track 3 :)

Check her bio at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marta_Wi%C5%9Bniewska

Track view of her latest offering!

01. Every Time 02. Winda Do Nieba 03. You Give Love A Bad Name 04. A Spaceman Came Travelling 05. Po Prostu Chce (I Don't Wanna Fall In Love) 06. I Wanna Fly 07. Esta Noche 08. Don't Say Goodbye 09. Stay Forever 10. Possessions 11. I Don't Wanna Fall In Love - 4:0712. VIDEO for Every Time.

Just read on one site that there is 55,000 Les Mills Instructors (now Coaches) worldwide.

Thats pretty awesome isn't it :)

Bodypump 57 DVD Michaels last on DVD!

Michael J McSweeney at his very best.

An outstanding DVD presented by Michael I am trully going to miss his presence on the Videos and DVD's I have watched him from PUMP 23 where he presented with Ruthie T to the present DVD releases.

No one will ever replace Michael J McSweeney ever. He is Bodypump and always to me be Bodypump and RPM.

One of the regrets I have is I never ever trained on any of the RPM's Michael Choreographed. If I had to do it all over again I would have jumped at the chance of training on one of his RPM releases. The RPM's and Bodypumps that Michael choreographed are the best you can or ever will get.

Simply they are perfection. Enjoy this special moment and watch him at his very best.

If you are contemplating training in Bodypump do it NOW or in the next few months it is your last chance to get trained in his gear and that is something to be cherished and a once in a lifetime chance. If I could go back in time I would have trained in RPM 19. I wish I did so.

Michael (PumpFrog) is a complete legend!

IMO!

Bodypump 57 Wow and Wow and well Wow!

This is Michaels best work :)

This release is a weights release and control and technique release. Track 3 defines this to a T!

Track 1 is a stunner track I mean the best track 1 in a very long time with a few suprises at the end of the track (nothing to keep everyone on their toes.) I love the ending of this track with a great combination of exercises.

Track 2 A few new suprises and Michael has choreographed a set of new exercises in this track. Won't spoil it for those who have not gone to their 1/4 yet.

Track 3 Thats a kicker of a track. Don't be fooled by the tracks objectives. The best so far in the whole 50's series of Bodypump. Your going to love track 3 a nice thumping beat and set of exercises. Was dripping buckets by the end of this track I kid you not!

WEIGHT SELECTION NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT!

Track 4 I have been waiting a while for this track and it is a gem of a track. Tommy K was so into that track today and he said it was now his fav track 5 ever. I am also a happy camper as well. The track has a number of suprises to it. Won't spoil it but you are going to work for this track and there is no escaping that at all. So be prepared to dig in hard and grit the teeth and take nothing but the best you can give to any track 4.The crowd went crazy when this one was on. Michael used an awesome mix for this track :). I can't get enough of the artists music for this track. A real great sing along track and an awesome back track :).

Track 5 Awesome uplifting track there is a suprise at the end of the track and it is now my favorite track 5 ever :)I am a huge fan of this group and have the single that Bodypump 57 is using. Could not imagine that this song could be a triceps track. It is one of the best track 5's ever.

Track 6 You leave your biceps at the door. One of the toughest track 6's in recent releases, be prepared to work in this track, by this time of the class expect pools of sweat to come off you :) Everyone went crazy when this one was on as well.

Track 7 it is a tricky track 7 expect to hard in this one and there are a few suprises in there as well.

Track 8 I have been waiting since 2003 or there abouts to see this track in Bodypump. It is now my favorite track 8 ever. It reminds me of the tracks Michael used in the early 30's series of Bodypump. I love the driving beat of the track .

Everyone want to be a .......... :) yeah bring it on :) be prepared to work and work yeah bring that one as well :)

Track 9 The return of a old favorite move from many years ago. The abs are going to get one hard workout form this track :)

Track 10 I love the music from this group and they are just the best group ever. It is one of those track 10's that silence is golden and you immerse yourself in the music :)

My rankings:

Exercise Selection: 10/10
Enjoyment Value: 10/10
Music: 10/10

Outstanding work from Michael :)

Now playing track 8 of Bodypump 57 over and over and over again :)

Track 8 Bodypump 57!

I have been waiting for that song in Bodypump for a very very very long time and finally the wait is over.

I am so glad that it is in Bodypump 57 and that Michael has choosen it as a shoulder track. :)

13 Hrs till Bodypump 57 and the one and only Cascada!

Not that I am counting:

I have been waiting since October 2005 for "Everytime We Touch" Cascada and the wait is coming to a close.

Everytime we touch I can feell your heartbeat.........

Bring on Cascada :)

Crazy Alanis Morrissette!

Was listening to that track (track 3 the club mix.) today would that track be an awesome Lunge Track in Bodypump. Or track one on the mini CD would be an awesome biceps track in Bodypump.

Alanis in Bodypump we have had her in RPM would be awesome to have her music in Bodypump :)

Pump It Bodypump 57!

This is the biggest and comprehensive music review I have ever done.

This is one very special release - it is the final Bodypump® of Product Manager & Head Choreographer Michael J McSweeney. Michael has choreographed every Bodypump® from release 1 in 1992 to this his final Bodypump® 57 in 2006. Which landmarks a career of over 14 years in charge of this awesome class we call Bodypump®.

Michael begins with Tina Cousins and ends the release with his best ever cool-down "Unbreak my Heart - IL Divo" and a wonderful song to go out by. This is the second time that this track has been used it was originally used in PUMP™ 24 Track No 9 - Unbreak my Heart Toni Braxton if you have done PUMP™ release 24 then you know that this is one outstanding AB track with a special ending to it.

Personal Note:

I would like to thank Michael for using the songs I have suggested on the music site for the last several years and I appreciate him using them. You hear a song and think that the track might be a goer and go to the site and suggest it. Michael actually reads the suggestions that we suggest and he also takes note of the numerous songs that are entered there, as he told us on the old Bodypump® Forums.

I also like to thank Michael for using Cascada on this release, I really appreciate that a lot. I also like to thank Michael for using Rockstar by N.E.R.D in this release as well. I may have suggested that track way back as well.

I would also like to thank Michael for bringing this wonderful program to us. For if it were not for him we would not have what we have today.

Finally I thank you Michael for answering me back! That will always be special to me and I thank you for taking the time to do that!

Michael J McSweeney will and always be Mr. Bodypump® to me.

From one grateful instructor and participant!

Kia ora to Michael J McSweeney and a huge thank you!

Here is an article on them in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infernal_(Dance_act)

Pussycat Dolls

® 2005 A&M Records (USA)

This is their first appearance in Bodypump®.

The Pussycat Dolls formed in 1993 out of Johnny Depp's Viper Room club. They have had several lineups over that time. They began as a burlesque act in Los Angeles.

They were lead originally by Carmen Electra and the list of other famous industry performers of today Christina Aguilera, Nikka Costa, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Christina Applegate, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton and Brittany Murphy. Which is a pretty impressive line up of talent.

Christina A - Britney - Gwen has appeared in numerous Les Mills releases (Bodypump® and Bodybalances®)

Don't Cha is their hit from 2005 Stickwitu is their follow-up single went to Number 1 in the USA.

Beep is their third single from their debut CD called "PCD" it debut at 95 on the Billboard charts which means they are running out of steam. From many years experience looking at the Billboard charts over 30 years experience of your third single is at 95 first week then you are on the way out. Don’t Cha is a great song your second and third single out also need to be the same as well.

They are a dance troop out of the USA they are heavily choreographed by Robin Antin. She is a gifted choreographer and artist in her own right.
